Why this exists

Most small businesses on the Eastern Shore already collect plenty of data. It sits in a job management system, an accounting package, a payment processor and a stack of spreadsheets, and none of it talks to the others. The owner ends up with a feeling about how the business is doing rather than a number.

The usual options are bad. Hiring an analyst costs around $95,000 a year fully loaded. Enterprise consultancies do not quote for work this size. Hourly freelancers leave you carrying the risk of an open-ended scope on data nobody has looked at yet.

Capability

Mobile Bay Data combines statistical analysis, data engineering and research methods: SQL, Python and R for analysis; Looker Studio and Power BI for reporting; and a background in evaluation and development communication that fits funder-facing nonprofit work.

Predictive modelling work is validated out of sample and has landed in the 82–89% accuracy range on comparable problems. Where a dataset is too thin to support a model, we say so rather than ship one.

When I will say no

We do not take work that needs data you do not have and cannot start collecting. We do not build dashboards nobody has agreed to use. And if an audit shows the problem is a process rather than a reporting gap, the audit will say that instead of recommending a project.
