The full-time hire
Salary surveys put an analyst in Birmingham or Huntsville between $62,000 and $85,000, with Mobile and the Eastern Shore at the lower end of that range. Add payroll taxes, benefits, software licences and a laptop and the real annual cost is closer to $95,000.
That only makes sense if there is a full week of analytical work every week. Most businesses under about $5M in revenue do not have that, which is why the first hire so often turns into a reporting clerk.
Hourly consultants
